Immediate Dentures Q & A

What are immediate dentures?

Immediate dentures are premade and created with the same care and attention to detail as Berlanga Dentures’ other denture options. They are fitted to your mouth immediately after your teeth are removed and adjusted over a six month period to assure the best possible fit.

How are immediate dentures different from standard dentures?

Standard (or full dentures) are used when a healing period is required after extractions, which means your dentures are fitted and placed after your mouth has healed. Immediate dentures are typically for first-time denture patients, and standard dentures are typically purchased when replacing your dentures.

What are the benefits of immediate dentures?

The main benefit of immediate dentures is that you never have to be in public without a full set of teeth. Dentures aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution to missing teeth. They are always custom-made to work with your smile. And while they do take some getting used to, modern dentures are natural-looking and more comfortable than ever.

Better shape and shade

Immediate dentures are created before all the teeth in your mouth are removed. This makes it easier for your Berlanga Dentures professional to duplicate the shape of your mouth, as well as the natural shade of your teeth.

Speech patterns

With conventional dentures, you must get used to speaking without teeth for several weeks before receiving your new teeth. Because immediate dentures are placed right after the extraction process, you have plenty of time to get used to speaking with a new set of teeth.

Getting dentures is a big step. Which is why we recommend a full consultation with one of our denturists who will outline all your options and take you through the entire process.

Immediate dentures at Berlanga Dentures are always handcrafted with the highest quality materials available. For more information, call or book an appointment online today.

Dentures may replace all or only some of the teeth. The dentures that replace all the teeth are known as complete dentures and they rest on the gums that cover the jawbones. The stability and retention of these dentures can be improved by attaching them to dental implants. Dentures that replace some but not all the teeth are known as partial dentures. They attach to the teeth that are still present, and cover and rest on the tissue and bone where the teeth are missing. Dental implants can also be used to restore and stabilize partial dentures as well.
